In the new year, we will continue forward along a bright road.

The year 2016 was full of wonders. On 7/5, APC Science Union was born. As a new organization, we explored and developed through the haze of our scientific convictions, eventually opening a path of our own!

Looking back over these six months, we already have much to show: 3 directly affiliated space stations, 9 chapters of The Walker’s Universe, 4 astronomy, physics, and chemistry exam papers, an APC Science Union community, and an official Union science communication account. We established positive diplomatic relations with other scientific organizations and worked with Xingyue to resolve a recent series of notorious mass-removal incidents in the astronomy community. We continued to improve, growing from the original Science and Publicity departments to include the Activity Organization Department, Military Affairs Department, Internal Administration, Finance Department, and an intern policy. More people gradually came to know us.

Now a new year has arrived, and the Union has already prepared a series of plans. We will release a chemistry-themed popular science book and continue improving the APC Science Union system. We believe that in 2017 we will not become complacent about past achievements or stop moving forward. We will work even harder for our dreams and for what we love!

APC Science Union held its first leadership transition in 12/2016. Jie Baiye became the Union’s second leader, and Wave-Particle Duality became its second deputy leader.
Achievements of the first administrative term: The Union held its first competition, a departmental recruitment contest with astronomy, physics, and chemistry sections, attracting many subject enthusiasts for discussion. During the first term, the Union proposed and substantially implemented the popular science book project The Walker’s Universe, and established the APC Science Union community and the official APC Science Union account.

The Walker’s Universe series has now reached Chapter 9. Thank you to every member for your work, and may APC Science Union become better and better.

Meaning of the organization’s name: A means Astronomy, P means Physics, and C means Chemistry. Together, APC represents an organization for science communication and discussion in astronomy, physics, and chemistry.
Purpose of the Union: To explore this uncertain world with students everywhere and travel through the realm of science. The organization focuses primarily on astronomy outreach while also covering physics, chemistry, biology, literature, and history.
Diplomatic principles: APC Science Union follows peaceful, independent, and autonomous policies in its external relations and actively seeks mutual progress with other organizations. The Union nevertheless firmly defends its fundamental principles. It will impose sanctions on organizations and individuals that seriously infringe its interests without legitimate reason, and will severely punish those who deliberately disrupt order or damage a friendly environment.
